Olubadan Announces 2026 Oloolu Masquerade Festival Plans

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has announced the 2026 Oloolu Masquerade Festival, scheduled to begin on Monday, July 27, 2026. In a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Ayoade Olugbemiga, he urged residents and participants to celebrate peacefully, adhering to the traditions of Ibadanland.

The festival will last four days, starting with a courtesy visit from the Oloolu Masquerade to the Olubadan at his Oke-Aremo Palace, where prayers will be offered for the monarch and the community. On July 28, the masquerade will visit Governor ‘Seyi Makinde at the Government House and several notable locations throughout Ibadan.

The festival will continue on July 29 with further visits, culminating in a grand finale on July 30, which includes visits to various areas to offer prayers for security and prosperity. Oba Ladoja emphasized the prohibition of women from seeing the masquerade and warned against actions that could disrupt the peace during the festival.
