Funke Akindele Stranded at London Airport Over Flight Delay

Funke Akindele, a Nollywood filmmaker, and other passengers were stranded at London Gatwick Airport for nearly 10 hours due to a delay of an Air Peace flight. The situation began at 6:30 AM when passengers were informed that a bird strike had caused the delay.

Akindele expressed frustration over the lack of proper communication from the airline, stating that passengers, including elderly individuals, were left without luggage, hotel accommodations, or timely updates. She demanded immediate action from Air Peace, highlighting the exhaustion and hunger experienced by those stranded.

In her posts, she noted that despite promises for hotel accommodations, the situation had not improved by 4 PM, with no luggage released and no proper assistance provided. Air Peace responded to her concerns by expressing empathy and attributing the disruption to factors beyond their control, while also stating their commitment to passenger safety and operational efficiency.
