CMD Prof. Ojo Addresses Space Constraints at FUTA Hospital

Prof. Olusegun Ojo, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal University of Technology Akure Teaching Hospital in Ondo State, identified inadequate office accommodation and limited clinic space as major challenges facing the institution. Despite these issues, he stated that the hospital is making steady progress, particularly with the Federal Government's approval to establish 1,200 personnel as part of efforts to develop a fully-fledged federal teaching hospital.

In a press briefing, Ojo emphasized the commitment to strengthening the hospital's system and improving service delivery. He addressed misunderstandings surrounding the recruitment of the new personnel, clarifying that the memorandum of understanding with the Ondo State Government does not guarantee the automatic absorption of existing workers into the new federal establishment.

Ojo condemned recent protests that disrupted hospital activities and stressed the importance of maintaining a peaceful environment for patient care, particularly for cancer patients and those awaiting surgery.
