Gambia Minister Leads Delegation to Akwaaba 2026

The Gambia Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, will lead a delegation to the Akwaaba Travel Market scheduled for September 13-15, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria. The Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard) aims to showcase the country's tourism potential, strengthen business relationships, and enhance its presence in the African travel market.

Team Gambia will host a Destination Gambia Promotional Cocktail Reception on September 12, 2026, to engage with travel agencies, tour operators, and other stakeholders. A key focus will be promoting The Gambia as an emerging Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination, leveraging the growing demand for business events in Africa.

The event will provide a platform to highlight Gambia's hospitality infrastructure and opportunities for hosting corporate events. Participation in Akwaaba 2026 is part of GTBoard's broader marketing strategy to increase visibility in Nigeria, a significant travel market in West Africa.
