Leaders Praise Successful Rescue of Kidnap Victims

Gbenga Hashim, the presidential candidate for the Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, and Bola Oyebamiji, the APC governorship candidate for the August 8, 2026 Osun State governorship election, commended the successful rescue of a pupil and teacher abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State. In a statement issued over the weekend, they described the rescue of the victims, who spent 50 days in captivity, as a significant development in the fight against insecurity.

Hashim emphasized that the operation demonstrated the capabilities of Nigeria's security agencies when provided with sustained political support. He called for similar rescue operations across the country until all kidnapping victims are freed.

Oyebamiji also praised the efforts of the Nigerian military and security agencies involved in the operation, highlighting the importance of continued support for these agencies to address insecurity nationwide. Both leaders expressed relief at the victims' reunion with their families and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership in enabling the successful rescue.
