Germany Bans Muslim Group Alleged to Promote Caliphate, Threaten Democracy

Germany has banned the Muslim Interaktiv group for allegedly engaging in anti-constitutional activities, including advocating for a caliphate. The Interior Minister, Alexand Dobrindt, emphasized that the group's actions posed a threat to the country's democratic values.

The ban, which took effect after police raids in Hamburg, was welcomed by officials like Andi Grote from the SPD. The group had drawn attention for its activities since 2020, leading to a nationwide debate on its ideologies.

Additionally, police conducted searches in Berlin and the state of Hesse targeting other Islamist organizations.
