Ghana Appoints Carlo Queiroz as New Coach for 2026 World Cup

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially appointed Carlo Queiroz as the head coach of the Black Stars, the senior national football team of Ghana, in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This decision comes after the departure of Otto Addo earlier in the month.

Queiroz, a 73-year-old experienced Portuguese tactician, is tasked with leading the four-time African champions as they aim to expand their presence in the global tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The GFA's executive council emphasized the importance of working with key stakeholders in this appointment, highlighting the need for stability in the team's technical direction ahead of the World Cup scheduled for June 2026.
