Ghana Appoints Carlo Queiroz as Black Stars Head Coach

The Ghana Football Association has officially appointed Carlo Queiroz as the head coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars, in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This announcement was made in a statement released on Monday.

Queiroz, a Portuguese tactician, has a notable coaching history, having previously managed Real Madrid, Manchester United, and the Portuguese national team, as well as leading Iran in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups. His experience includes guiding South Africa to qualify for the 2002 World Cup and reaching the knockout stage with Portugal in 2010.

Queiroz will begin his role immediately, focusing on the Black Stars' preparations for the tournament, which will kick off on June 11, 2026. Ghana has been drawn into a group that includes England, Panama, and Croatia, with their first match scheduled against Panama on June 17, 2026, in Toronto, Canada.
