Ghana Slashes Passport Fees by 30% Ahead of Detty December

The Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a 30% reduction in passport application fees, bringing it down from GH₵500 to GH₵350. The move, effective from November 13, 2025, aims to make passport acquisition more affordable for Ghanaians.

In contrast, the Nigerian government recently increased its passport fees to sustain quality, curb corruption, and ensure timely delivery. Aci Akinlabi, in a statement on behalf of the Nigerian Immigration Service, announced the new fees of N100,000 for a 32-page 5-year passport and N200,000 for a 64-page 10-year passport.
