Gombe Governor’s Wife Calls for Women’s Unity and Support

Hajiya Asmau Yahaya, the wife of Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya, called for stronger collective efforts to enhance the well-being and development of women and children during the Gombe Women’s Unity and Progress Summit held on Wednesday. The summit, themed “Stronger Voices.

United Women. Greater Impact,” focused on the administration's commitment to transforming the state, particularly in healthcare.

Asmau Yahaya highlighted the establishment and upgrading of primary healthcare centers across the state's 114 wards to improve access to healthcare and maternal and child health outcomes. She emphasized the need for mentorship, economic independence, and political inclusion for women, urging stakeholders to collaborate for the development of Gombe State and Nigeria.

Hauwa Liman, Technical Adviser to Vice President Kashim Shettima, encouraged women to abandon rivalry and embrace collaboration, stating that success should be measured by the number of people one helps succeed, rather than personal achievements.
