The conference, held at Gombe State University, focused on exploring opportunities for developing local antivenom therapies to address snakebites, leveraging Nigeria's resources.

Deputy Governor Jatau highlighted the state's investments in healthcare, including upgrading the Snake Bite Hospital in Kaltungo. The event aimed to promote research and innovation in producing and exporting snake venom antivenom, potentially creating jobs and reducing healthcare costs.
