NSCDC Arrests Three for Impersonation in Gombe State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested three men in Gombe State for alleged impersonation, forgery, and possession of fake identification cards and uniforms. The suspects are Auwal Umar, 26, from Tukulma in Akko Local Government Area; Hamza Usman, 23, from Herwagana, Gombe; and Yakubu Muhammad, 22, also from Herwagana.

They were paraded at the NSCDC State Command, where the State Commandant, Idris Jibrin, represented by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSC Buhari Saad, stated that the suspects were found with NSCDC volunteer identification cards and uniforms. Buhari clarified that the NSCDC does not issue identification cards to its volunteers, raising concerns about the suspects' intentions to impersonate corps personnel.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be arraigned in court following the completion of investigations. The NSCDC has urged the public to verify the identities of individuals claiming to be personnel or volunteers of the corps.
