Police Arrest Man for Producing Fake NIN and PVCs

The Niger State Police Command arrested 42-year-old Mohammed Aliyu Buba for allegedly running a fake identity document syndicate that produced forged National Identity Numbers (NIN) and Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). The arrest occurred on July 28, following intelligence reports that Buba was creating fake documents for unsuspecting individuals in Munya and Wushishi Local Government Areas.

Police Commissioner CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman disclosed that Buba was apprehended at his residence, where authorities recovered 105 fake NIN cards and 189 fake PVCs. During interrogation, Buba confessed to producing these documents for over 1,000 people, charging N2,000 for each fake NIN and N1,000 for each fake voter card, amassing over N3 million from this illegal operation.

Buba remains in police custody and will face charges upon the completion of investigations. Elleman warned the public against engaging with illegal identity document producers, emphasizing the serious legal consequences of obtaining forged government documents.
