Inuwa Commissions GOGIS Field Office in Gombe State

On Thursday, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya commissioned the Gombe State Geographic Information System (GOGIS) field office located in Shehu Abubakar District. This initiative is part of the administration's efforts to modernize land administration, promote orderly urban development, and strengthen economic growth.

Inuwa Yahaya noted that the establishment of the GOGIS field office represents a culmination of reforms initiated since he assumed office in 2019, addressing issues such as fraud, inefficiency, and poor record-keeping in the land administration system. The GOGIS aims to restore order and protect property rights, while the Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA) will support these efforts.

The governor announced a planned statewide land recertification exercise requiring landowners to present existing manual title documents for digitization. He also highlighted a significant investment of ₦24 billion in infrastructure, including roads and public facilities, to transform the district from slum conditions to a modern urban area.
