Gombe Governor Launches 2026 Fertilizer Distribution Program

On Tuesday, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya officially launched the 2026 wet season fertilizer and farm inputs distribution program. The state government procured 12,000 metric tons of NPK 20-10-10 fertilizer, equivalent to 240,000 bags, which will be sold to farmers at a highly subsidized rate of N32,000 per 50kg bag, representing a 50% discount from market prices.

Governor Yahaya emphasized that this initiative demonstrates the administration's commitment to revitalizing the agricultural sector and sustaining Gombe State's position as a leading agricultural hub in Nigeria. Additionally, the government will provide various agricultural machinery and tools free of charge, including water pumps, motorized weeders, and rice mills.

He urged farmers to adopt modern farming practices and climate-smart technologies to improve productivity and resilience. The governor also stressed the importance of peace between farmers and herders, calling for dialogue and collaboration to maintain stability in farming communities.
