Governor Nwifuru Urges Faster Construction at UAAE

On September 28, Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, raised concerns regarding the slow construction progress at the University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering (UAAE) in Onueke, Ezza South Local Government Area.

During an inspection tour coinciding with Nigeria's independence anniversary, Governor Nwifuru, accompanied by founding fathers, traditional elders, women leaders, youth representatives, and top government officials, expressed disappointment with the contractors. He noted that the UAAE was initiated alongside the ICT University at Oferekpe Agbaja in Izzi Local Government Area, yet the UAAE has significantly lagged behind schedule.

Despite initial challenges posed by the geographical terrain and waterlogged soil conditions, the project has consumed two dry seasons without satisfactory completion. To expedite progress, Governor Nwifuru instructed the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Amari Omaka, to take direct charge of the project oversight, enforce stricter contractual conditions, and increase pressure on contractors for timely delivery.
