Gov Sule Denies Secret Meeting with Atiku in Mecca

Governor Sule of Nasarawa State has categorically denied reports alleging that he held a secret meeting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, during the Lesser Hajj. The governor's chief press secretary issued a statement refuting the claims, describing them as entirely false.

The statement emphasized that Governor Sule neither met Atiku nor any associates during the religious exercise. He reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration and criticized unnamed political actors attempting to undermine his relationship with the president.

The report of the alleged meeting suggested discussions on political developments ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, including Atiku's potential collaboration with the African Democratic Congress after leaving the People's Democratic Party. Paul Ibe, Atiku's spokesperson, reportedly was unaware of any such meeting.

Governor Sule's statement reiterated his commitment to support President Tinubu and maintain unity within the political landscape of Nasarawa State.
