Zulum Initiates Service Restoration in Borno Community

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum announced a new initiative to restore basic services and enhance local administration in Mallam-Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area, as residents displaced by insurgency gradually return. During his visit, Zulum inspected various facilities, including schools and government structures, that were damaged or abandoned due to conflict.

He ordered the immediate provision of essential social infrastructure, such as an Islamiyya school, primary and secondary schools, and a hospital, emphasizing the need for reconstruction to make the community habitable. Zulum highlighted that access to education and healthcare would help residents restore their livelihoods.

He also met with the Commanding Officer of the 68 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel D. Y.

Chuwar, commending the troops for their protective efforts. Additionally, Zulum directed the suspension of existing village and ward heads in Mallam-Fatori, calling for the appointment of new leaders to support community rebuilding efforts.
