Zulum Commits to Rebuild Malam Fatori, Sacks Absentee Leaders

On Monday, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State visited Malam Fatori, a town severely affected by conflict, to pledge reconstruction efforts aimed at supporting residents returning to liberated areas. Accompanied by officials including Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Zulum inspected the extensive damage to schools, government buildings, and housing facilities.

He directed the immediate construction of primary, secondary, and Islamiyya schools, as well as a local hospital, to restore vital education and healthcare services. Zulum emphasized the importance of basic amenities for returnees to rebuild their lives.

In a decisive move, he ordered the suspension and sacking of all village and ward heads in Malam Fatori due to their absence during this critical time. He stressed the need for competent replacements to work with the government and security agencies.

Additionally, Zulum visited the 68 Battalion Nigerian Army headquarters, commending the military's efforts in maintaining security and facilitating civilian life.
