Adeniyi Calls for Independent Probe of Gbajabiamila

Princ Ademola Adeniyi, the boss of the PFIPC, has demanded an independent investigation into Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, stating that the government cannot credibly investigate itself. Adeniyi expressed this during an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today, arguing that the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) should not handle the investigation as it is not possible for the government to probe itself.

He thanked President Bola Tinubu for directing the ICPC to investigate the matter but insisted that an independent body is necessary to uncover the truth behind the allegations of corruption involving Gbajabiamila. Adeniyi also referenced a loan of 400 million naira that Gbajabiamila allegedly borrowed, which is tied to a controversial allocation of 1.3 billion naira in the 2026 appropriation bill.

Additionally, Adeyemi has written an open letter to President Tinubu, urging the establishment of an independent multi-stakeholder panel to investigate the allegations.
