Greenwood and Guendouzi Suspended After Brawl Incident

Mason Greenwood and Matteo Guendouzi, players for Fenerbahce, have been suspended due to their involvement in a brawl following the UEFA Champions League play-off second leg against Lyon. Fenerbahce won the match 2-1 in France, advancing 3-2 on aggregate.

UEFA announced that Guendouzi has been suspended for a total of four UEFA club competition matches for insulting others, provoking spectators, and violating basic conduct rules. Two of these matches are under a one-year probationary period.

Guendouzi was also fined €50,000 ($58,000) for actions including giving the middle finger to Lyon supporters and provoking a scuffle. Greenwood received a one-match suspended ban and a €30,000 fine for violating basic conduct rules.

The decisions were made public by UEFA on a Friday evening.
