Delta Governor Oborevwori Leads Security Summit in Asaba

On a recent date, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon.

Sheriff Oborevwori held a security summit in Asaba, themed "Security: Collective Responsibility." The summit aimed to address rising insecurity and brought together heads of security agencies, local government chairmen, traditional rulers, community leaders, civil society groups, and youth organizations. Governor Oborevwori stressed the importance of protecting lives and property as foundational to societal prosperity and economic growth.

He announced plans to establish a state police force and a security trust fund to support security operations. The governor also noted the need for community engagement and intelligence sharing to combat crime effectively.

Dr. Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the Delta State Government, highlighted the summit's role in proactively addressing security concerns and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.

The governor called on all citizens to report suspicious activities to law enforcement to enhance community safety.
