NPSF Praises Military for Rescuing 610 Kidnap Victims

The North Peace and Stability Forum (NPSF) commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their significant achievements in combating terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping across Nigeria. In a statement on Tuesday, Chairman Aminu Daura praised the military for eliminating a notorious bandit kingpin in Katsina State and rescuing 610 kidnapped victims during operations in August.

The NPSF noted that the neutralization of this bandit leader is a major setback for criminal networks in the North-West, which have plagued communities with violence and abductions. The forum highlighted the successful rescue of 15 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), emphasizing the humanitarian impact of these operations.

Daura acknowledged the commitment and professionalism of Nigerian troops and commended the leadership of Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede. The NPSF urged security agencies to maintain pressure on fleeing criminals and called on citizens to support military efforts by providing credible information, reinforcing the idea that security is a collective responsibility.
