RIVPA Calls for Peaceful Bye-Election in Rivers State

The Rivers State Political Association (RIVPA) has issued a press statement calling for a transparent and peaceful conduct of the upcoming bye-election in Rivers State, specifically for the Ahoada East II and Khana II constituencies. The statement, signed jointly by the caretaker chairman Mr.

Ifeanyi Evan Osi and caretaker secretary Mr. Augustin Tane, emphasizes the need for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to be actively involved in the electoral process.

RIVPA has appealed for political parties, candidates, and voters to be treated fairly without bias. They further urged political actors and stakeholders across the state to maintain peace and abide by the law as the election date approaches, scheduled for February 21.

The association commended traditional rulers, religious leaders, and civil society organizations for their cooperation with INEC to ensure a successful electoral process. RIVPA also advised media practitioners to remain steadfast in discharging their duties during this period.
