Yari Appointed DG of APC Campaign Council for 2027 Elections

Abdul’aziz Yari, the former Governor of Zamfara State, has been appointed as the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This appointment has been praised by APC-aligned groups, including Transparency Watch, which commended Yari's political experience and contributions to the party.

The council was formally constituted by the Presidency, with President Bola Tinubu as Chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as Vice Chairman. Other notable appointments include Prof Nentawe Yilwatda as Vice Chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Secretary.

Transparency Watch expressed confidence in Yari's ability to lead the campaign, highlighting his grassroots networks and financial capacity. The North-Central APC Forum also supported Yari's appointment, congratulating him and recognizing the selection of James Faleke and Okpokwu Ogenyi into the campaign council.

The forum emphasized that Yari is a widely accepted politician across northern states.
