Osun Assembly Speaker Alleges Threats Ahead of Election

On Wednesday, Rt. Hon Adewale Olumide Egbedun, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, raised concerns about threats of electoral violence and voter intimidation ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

During a press conference in Osogbo, he urged the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Tunji Disu, to take immediate action. Egbedun accused Senator Francis Fadahunsi of Osun East and Francis Eniade, the APC House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, of making threats against non-APC members.

He specifically referenced a video by Eniade that mentioned threats against him and other voters. Egbedun emphasized that these threats undermine democracy and called for Eniade's arrest and investigation.

He reassured citizens of their constitutional right to vote freely and urged them to participate in the election without fear. He concluded by stating that the House of Assembly would advocate for voter protection through lawful means.
