Kebbi High Court Judge Justice Faruku Bunza Abducted

Justice Faruku Bunza of the Kebbi State High Court was abducted from his home in Bunza Local Government Area on Sunday before dawn. The incident occurred shortly after he returned from Sokoto State.

Armed men invaded his residence along Zogirma Road, shouting and alerting nearby residents, but managed to abduct him without harming others. The Kebbi State High Court management confirmed the incident, describing it as a significant setback for the judiciary.

They have begun consultations with security agencies to coordinate efforts for his release. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed the abduction and stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Hadejia, had deployed tactical and intelligence teams to rescue Justice Bunza.

A coordinated manhunt for the abductors is underway, with no group claiming responsibility for the abduction at the time of reporting. Investigations are ongoing.
