Gunmen Kill Four, Including Beheaded Man in Plateau

In a series of violent attacks in Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State, four individuals were killed, including Mr. Geoffrey Gumut, a 55-year-old man who was beheaded on September 11, 2026. The Mwaghavul Youth Movement reported these incidents, which also included the killing of Mr. Katbam Titus, aged 29, on the night of September 12, 2026, by armed Fulanis in Kinat.

The group expressed outrage, noting that these attacks occurred just hours after a security engagement led by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division, Nigerian Army, who had called for peace between Mwaghavul and Fulani leaders. The statement highlighted that Mr. Danjuma Kyesle, aged 45, was also attacked and remains hospitalized, while Mr. Pius Dachen, aged 50, and Mr. Zadok Irmiya, aged 25, were murdered in a separate incident.

The Mwaghavul Youth Movement criticized security authorities for their inability to prevent these recurring attacks, questioning how many more incidents must occur before action is taken against the perpetrators.
