Two Vigilantes Killed in Plateau Community Attack

On Thursday, it was reported that two vigilantes, Joel Bwede, aged 39, and Justice Dadong, aged 22, were killed during an attack in their community in Plateau. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. when gunmen stormed the area and opened fire on the vigilante members who were on duty to protect the community.

A resident, Lazarus Bot, confirmed the details of the attack, stating that the victims were from the same family. Rwang Tengwong, the spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders (BYM), condemned the killings as unfortunate and called for security agencies to take action against the attackers to ensure justice.

He expressed concern over the increasing violence in the Riyom Local Government Area and urged security operatives to implement proactive measures to safeguard lives and property. Efforts to reach Captain Polycap Oteh, spokesperson for Operation Enduring Peace, for comments on the incident were unsuccessful.
