Armed men shot dead a retired Ogun State Television broadcaster and a security guard in Agodo Community early Sunday. Police have launched an investigation.

Unknown gunmen killed Kitan Oyesiku, a former broadcaster at Ogun State Television, and a security guard in the Agodo Community along the Abeokuta-Siun-Sagamu Expressway in the early hours of Sunday, June 21, 2026. The 67-year-old Oyesiku, popularly known as Aunti Kitan during his media career, was attacked at his residence in the Iyana Agodo village area.

Both bodies were transferred to the morgue at Ijaiye General Hospital in Abeokuta. According to accounts from anonymous sources, church members discovered the incident when they went to check on Oyesiku after he did not arrive for a service.

Upon reaching his residence, they found the security officer already dead. Moments later, they discovered Oyesiku had also been killed by the assailants.

The discovery prompted residents to raise an alarm that brought community members to the scene. The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the killings through Divisional Police Officer Oluseyi Babaseyi.

The police statement indicated the incident was reported on Sunday, June 21, 2026, when residents in the Iyana Agodo village raised suspicion about suspicious activity.
