Three Suspects Remanded for Murder of Ex-Broadcaster

A magistrate court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has ordered the remand of three suspects—Sodeind Olajunwon, Phillip Sobu, and Obafunsho Shakirudeen Ayoola—accused of the murder of former Ogun State Television broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and security guard Pelumi Adetayo. The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T.

Odubanjo, granted the application from the Ogun State Police Command to remand the suspects for 60 days pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The application was based on Section 306 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Ogun State, 2017.

The suspects were arrested following an investigation into the deaths of Oyesiku and Adetayo, whose bodies were discovered in a residence in Agodo last June. The police reported that the suspects allegedly confessed to coordinating the attack, claiming they intended to teach Oyesiku a lesson.

The case has been adjourned to September 10, 2026, for further proceedings.
