Court Orders 60-Day Remand for Suspects in Oyesiku Murder

A magistrate court in Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has ordered the remand of three suspects for 60 days in connection with the murder of Kitan Oyesiku, a 67-year-old retired broadcaster from OGTV. Oyesiku was found dead on June 20 inside his apartment in Agodo Village, with evidence suggesting he was killed in cold blood.

The suspects include Sodeind Olajunwon Phillip, a 22-year-old former security guard, Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36, a bricklayer. The Ogun State Police launched an investigation following the discovery of Oyesiku's body, which was found with blood-soaked tissue paper nearby.

The police recovered a missing vehicle linked to the case and arrested the principal suspect. The application for remand was filed by the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department, and the case is set to be adjourned until September 10, 2026, as the court granted the police's request for the remand.
