Gunmen Kill Comedian Isaac Nwosu in Anambra Attack

On August 30, 2026, in Awka, Anambra State, unidentified gunmen shot and killed popular comedian and media personality Isaac Nwosu, known as ‘Aiza Nwosu’, along S.M. Okeke Street.

An unidentified middle-aged man was also killed along Capital City Road, Amaenyi, by the same assailants. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, numbering about three and driving a tinted vehicle, trailed Nwosu from his home, double-crossed his vehicle, and shot him dead, leaving him in a pool of blood inside his car.

They then shot the second victim by the roadside, robbed him, and fled the scene. The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that the police command had begun an investigation and intensified efforts to locate the suspects.

The police condemned the attacks and called for public cooperation in the ongoing manhunt. Videos circulating online corroborated the incident, showing the victims' bodies at the crime scenes.
