Hannover 96 Eyes Victor Boniface for Transfer Move

Hannover 96 is reportedly targeting Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface as they seek to enhance their attack before the transfer window closes, according to PUNCH Sports Extra. German outlet Neupresse indicates that Boniface is among several forwards under consideration by Hannover, potentially offering him a chance to revive his career in German football.

The 25-year-old returned to Bayer Leverkusen this summer after a difficult loan at Werder Bremen, where he did not score in 11 appearances during the 2025/26 season. His time at Werder followed an injury-affected period at Leverkusen.

Despite being under contract with Leverkusen until June 2029, Boniface has impressed in pre-season, scoring twice in a 7-0 victory over Sportfreunde Baumberg and netting the winner against Newcastle United on August 15. Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes noted that Boniface is improving his fitness but faces competition for places.

A move to Hannover may depend on Leverkusen's plans, with a loan being a more feasible option given his wages and contract length.
