Edo Commissioner Afegbua Accuses Obi of False Claims

Kassim Afegbua, the Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, publicly accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, of living a false lifestyle. During an appearance on Symfoni TV, Afegbua claimed that Anambra State was in debt when Obi left office as governor, contradicting Obi's assertions.

He referenced records from the Debt Management Office (DMO) to substantiate his claims, stating that Obi had taken foreign loans despite his denials. Afegbua also mentioned that under Obi's administration, some workers were owed gratuities and pensions.

He criticized Obi for claiming to own only one shoe and a wristwatch, while allegedly being seen with multiple wristwatches. Afegbua concluded that Obi's actions fall under what he described as "the five types of lies," suggesting that Obi has been misrepresenting his true circumstances as he seeks the presidency of Nigeria.
