Dele Momodu Defends Atiku Against Babachir Lawal's Critique

Dele Momodu, a politician, responded to Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, regarding Lawal's criticisms of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries won by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. In an interview on Monday, Momodu characterized Lawal's remarks as confused and possibly motivated by envy.

Lawal had previously resigned from the ADC, alleging that the party's primary process was compromised and did not reflect a genuine democratic exercise. Momodu dismissed these allegations, stating that there was no credible evidence to support them.

He questioned why Lawal did not provide further documentation to substantiate his claims and argued that Lawal's exit from the party would not significantly weaken Atiku's political influence ahead of the 2027 general elections. Momodu defended Atiku's record, asserting that he has built a reputation for independent governance and does not rely on state resources for political gain.
