Abuja Health Workers Protest Against Regulatory Bill

On Thursday, health workers gathered at the Unity Fountain in Abuja to protest against a proposed health sector regulatory bill currently before the National Assembly. The protest was organized by the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU), which directed its affiliated unions to demonstrate against the bill.

The workers argue that the legislation would allow for the subjugation of all medical professions under a new regulatory body, which they believe would diminish the status of medical and dental professionals in Nigeria. Union leader Egbanubi described the protest as a crucial moment for the healthcare profession and urged members to participate actively.
