Tinubu Urges Diaspora Investment at Toronto Summit

At the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) held in Toronto, Canada, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to invest in Nigeria, highlighting the country's potential as a viable investment destination amid ongoing economic reforms. The summit, organized by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and the Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative (NDSI), aimed to transition diaspora engagement from mere remittances to sustainable investments, particularly in sectors like fintech, agriculture, and energy.

A significant moment at the summit was the recognition of HELLO Energy, a Nigerian company, which won the Diaspora Community Impact and Infrastructural Development Award. The CEO of HELLO Energy, Barrister Okhide Ezigbo, stated that this recognition would motivate the company to increase its investments in Nigeria, acknowledging the vast investment potential in the country.
