Nigeria Joins World Energy Council Under Tinubu's Leadership

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially welcomed Nigeria's admission as the newest National Member Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC), marking a significant achievement for the country. He described this development as a proud moment and a strong endorsement of Nigeria's energy reforms and leadership in Africa.

The President noted that Nigeria's entry into the global network of over 100 countries positions it to actively influence global discussions on energy security, equity, and sustainability. He congratulated the inaugural leadership of WEC Nigeria, which includes Chairman Mr. Abdulrazaq Isa and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Bala Wunti, along with other notable Nigerians from various sectors.

Tinubu praised Mr. Isa for his pioneering investments in indigenous refining and Mr. Wunti for his extensive experience and contributions to energy reforms. He expressed confidence that the diverse expertise on the Board would ensure WEC Nigeria's success and reaffirmed the Federal Government's support for the Council's initiatives.
