Hoodlums Steal Voter Cards in Osun PVC Distribution Attack

On Sunday, an armed group invaded a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) distribution center at Oyinlola DC Primary School in Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, halting the distribution process. Eyewitness Gbadebo reported that approximately eight assailants fired gunshots into the air, causing panic among eligible voters who had gathered to collect their PVCs ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The attackers specifically targeted the area where the voter cards were stored, successfully fleeing with three packs of PVCs. The Osun State Police Command, represented by SP Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the incident and stated that Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan condemned the attack, ordering an immediate investigation.

The police have mobilized tactical operatives and intelligence teams to track down the suspects, recover the stolen cards, and ensure the electoral process remains uncompromised. Ojelabi urged the public to assist in the investigation and assured that adequate security measures are in place for the upcoming elections.
