House Committee Issues Final Warning to Defaulting MDAs

The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee, led by Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, is investigating the alleged establishment and operations of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

The Committee expressed disappointment over the failure of several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to respond to its invitations. The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs has distanced itself from the PFIPC, clarifying that it has never officially engaged with the organization or its purported Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ambassador Dr. Dunoma Umar Ahmed, represented the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, during the Committee's proceedings. The Committee emphasized that compliance with its invitations is a legal obligation and issued a final notice for all defaulting MDAs to appear before it on Thursday with relevant documents.

Failure to comply may result in the invocation of constitutional powers to ensure accountability and potential sanctions against obstructing parties.
