Reps Order MDAs to Comply in PFIPC Investigation

The House of Representatives has escalated its investigation into the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), issuing a 48-hour ultimatum for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to appear before its ad hoc committee or face sanctions. The investigation focuses on the PFIPC's alleged establishment, funding, and operations, questioning its legal standing as a government agency.

The committee, chaired by Yusuf Gagdi, accused some MDAs of obstructing the investigation by ignoring invitations and failing to provide requested documents. Gagdi emphasized that compliance with committee invitations is a constitutional obligation, not optional.

He warned that any agency failing to appear without lawful justification would face legal consequences. The committee aims to clarify the facts surrounding the PFIPC and uphold the integrity of public institutions, asserting that the investigation is not intended to victimize anyone but to ensure accountability.
