Adelabu Credits Ajimobi for His Political Aspirations

Adebayo Adelabu, a former minister and gubernatorial aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, stated that the governance style of the late Abiola Ajimobi inspired him to venture into politics. During an interview on the sidelines of the sixth-year fidau prayer held in honor of Ajimobi at Oluyole Estate, Ibadan, Adelabu described Ajimobi as a mentor whose leadership left a lasting impact on the state.

He emphasized that their relationship transcended politics, likening it to a father-son bond. Adelabu noted that Ajimobi's charismatic and visionary leadership provided direct mentorship and stability within the APC.

He highlighted Ajimobi's administration's decisive actions in areas such as security, infrastructure development, and education. Adelabu urged APC members to prioritize the party's interests over personal ambitions and to embrace reconciliation ahead of the 2027 governorship elections, stressing the importance of unity within the party to reclaim power from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
