Spain's High-Speed Rail Disaster Claims 39 Lives

On a late Sunday, a catastrophic collision occurred between an Iryo train and a Renfe Alvia train near Adamuz, Córdoba, resulting in at least 39 fatalities and 122 injuries, marking it as the deadliest railway disaster in Europe in 80 years. The accident took place on a newly renovated high-speed rail line, which had undergone a €700 million overhaul just eight months prior.
