DSS Traces Suspect in Abuja School Death Threats Case

The Department of State Services (DSS) successfully traced John Jude Agbo, the suspect behind death threats sent to three elite schools in Abuja, including Premier International School, Regent Secondary School, and Oakland International British School. The threats were reported on November 28, 2024, prompting an investigation.

Agbo was arrested in Otukpo, Benue State, where a Tecno Android phone and SIM card were recovered. He was arraigned on March 17, 2024, on two counts of terrorism under the Terrorism (Prevention) Prohibition Act 2022 and the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act 2015, as amended in 2024.

During the trial, DSS operative Michael Jego testified as the first prosecution witness, detailing how the DSS received a petition regarding the threats. The case has been adjourned until May 12, 2024, for the presentation of additional witnesses and exhibits.
