Kogi State Boosts Public School Enrolment Initiatives

Kingsley Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, announced initiatives aimed at increasing enrolment in public schools. The Kogi State Government is heavily investing in the Model Science Secondary School in Okebukun, Mopamuro Local Government Area, to reverse the trend of parents opting for private schools due to poor conditions in public institutions.

The government is implementing a multi-layered security architecture to protect students and staff, which includes training local government chairmen and civil service personnel. Additionally, health services are being prioritized, with a focus on maternal health and free medical care for pregnant women.

Eniola, is also set to complete a new 300-room hostel for male students by August, which aims to enhance student welfare and increase revenue for the state. The overall agenda aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
