Kogi Governor Calls for Community Involvement in Development

Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo called for community participation in rural development during the launch of a N750 million development project in Ekirin Adde, Ijumu Local Government Area. Speaking at the event, which was attended by Deputy Joel Oyibo, Ododo highlighted the power of collective action in advancing grassroots development.

He urged residents to complement government efforts in providing basic necessities and improving living conditions. The governor praised the community's spirit and cultural heritage, encouraging unity and hard work.

Ibrahim Haruna, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, represented the chairman at the event and emphasized the need for security awareness among residents due to rising insecurity in Okunland. Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State donated N50 million towards the project.

Olusoji Otitoju received the Ekirin Adde Grand Star Award for his contributions to community development, stressing the importance of cultural values and the need for the Nigerian diaspora to remain connected to their roots.
