Abuja Cleric Apostle Orokpo Reflects on Faith Crisis

Apostle Michael Orokpo, the founder of Encounters Jesus Ministries in Abuja, recounted in an interview how the death of his mother in 2010 profoundly impacted his faith. Describing her as an intercessor, Orokpo expressed that her sudden illness and passing left him heartbroken and angry with God.

This emotional turmoil caused him to abandon his spiritual commitments and turn to alcohol and nightlife during 2010 and 2011. He also shared a painful episode in 2017 when his brother died despite intense prayers and fasting, which further shattered his faith.

However, after a period of struggle and a warning from the Holy Spirit regarding corruption in his ministry, Orokpo began to pray again. This renewed commitment helped him recover from grief and rekindle his belief in God, ultimately making him stronger in his faith.
