Agagb expressed frustration over the questioning, claiming it was inappropriate to discuss tactical issues after a victory. The situation escalated, leading to a chaotic scene as the coach refused to calm down.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), represented by chairman Muzammil Ibrahim Yakasai, condemned the coach's actions, highlighting that journalists have the right to ask legitimate questions as part of their professional duties. The NUJ emphasized that the attack on Halilu was a violation of professional conduct and an affront to democratic values, asserting that journalists are not enemies but stakeholders in the discourse surrounding sports.
