Woman Beheaded in Adamawa Hotel; Suspect Arrested

On Friday, August 14, 2026, a woman named Aisha was brutally murdered in a hotel located approximately 150 metres from the Girei Divisional Police Station in Girei Local Government Area, Adamawa State. The incident occurred when Aisha, a divorcee and commercial sex worker, was with a male guest in a hotel room.

Neighbors reported hearing unusual noises, prompting one to knock on the door, which was opened by the suspect, Ali Haruna, 27, from Kaleri Ward, Maiduguri, Borno State. Upon entering, the co-tenant discovered bloodstains and raised an alarm.

Aisha was found with severe injuries and was later confirmed dead at a medical facility. The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the arrest of Haruna and the hotel owner, initiating an investigation into the incident.

SP Suleiman Nguroje stated that a dagger allegedly used in the crime was recovered, and the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough investigation.
